Axis of Islam and Ummah

Written by M Rashid Tabassum

Saudi Arabia (KSA) is spiritual centre whereas Pakistan is defense centre of Muslim World. In KSA, there are 2 harams (Masjid Haraam and Masjid Nabvi) and many other religious places. On the other hand, Pakistan has the only nuclear power of Islamic World. Both countries are the apple of one’s eye of Muslims. 23rd of September is that day, when Shah Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rehman Al-Saud laid foundation of Saudi Arabia. It is also the national day of KSA.

Sacred Hijaz is our axis of faith. Our heart is beating in his love. Its relation is also part of our firm of belief. We also praise for KSA because its rulers serve Islam sincerity and help to Muslims of whole world. Quran & Sunnah is the supreme legislative power in the Islamic law and purpose of Saudi rulers is formation of Islamic system. Its rulers have polished to the Islamic society through his struggle. It is also playing main role to enhance and defense of Islamic beliefs and their religious values.

Saudi Government has played important role in circulation of Quran o Sunnah. King Fahd Complex is located in Medina for the printing of the Holy Quran. It produces 10 million copies of Quran every year. It has published 55 different translations of Quran in 39 languages.

KSA Government makes special management during Hajj every year and understands his duty to serve Hajj pilgrims. It shows equally service to all pilgrims. Best arrangements are done for security of Hajj pilgrims; do not create the situation of stampede, cleanliness and other affairs. Medical treatment is free for all pilgrims. Sign boards, big screens have been fixed for guidance of pilgrims. There is a separate ministry made for Hajj. Saudi Government has also established Hajj Research Centre. Specially, Electronic Bracelets had been introduced for all pilgrims as part of a safety during driving. Bracelets contained on personal and medical information of that person. These devices also show the compass on prayers timings. These have multi lingual system to guide the pilgrims related about various rituals of different Islamic events. All type of information was also provided to pilgrims through I Pad and smart phones. An application named “Smarthajj” also launched to guide the pilgrims during their trip. All managements for Hajj were seen and observed through approximately 5000 security cameras. Quran e Majeed and other Islamic literature are provided to pilgrims in their native language.

Writing more, Pakistan has relations with KSA is very ideal. Love between Saudi rulers and Pakistan is not hidden. Both are comprehended as brother and their second home. They express their love affection and link with Pakistan many times. They also prove from their act that they truly love with Pakistani people. They help to Pakistan at every occasion and perform their duty in difficult time. First agreement of friendship and cooperation was signed between both countries in 1951. King Saud termed Pakistan as his second home, during visit to Pakistan in 1954 and said about Pakistani flag: “This flag is mine. It’s my country”.  Saudi Arabia also supported Pakistan’s stance in Kashmir issue at official level. When Shah Faisal became king of KSA, he discussed right of self determination of Kashmiris in his first speech. He said about brotherhood between Pakistan and KSA: “both countries are bound in religious, spiritual and most dignified & elevated links”. During wars of 1965 and 1971, KSA fully supported politically, mediatory, moral, military and economically. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are closest partner in defense in the Middle East. Both countries have shared the extensive military and intelligence cooperation. Former Saudi intelligence chief Prince Turki bin Sultan described the level of cooperation as “probably one of the closest relationships in the world between any two countries”. While Pakistan’s ambassador Naeem Khan stated that Pakistan thinks about Saudi Arabia’s security as a “personal matter”. In 1967, Military agreement was signed between and training of Saudi army was assigned to Pakistan. When Pakistan conducted five nuclear tests in 1998, west got anger and economic restrictions had imposed on Pakistan. Saudi Arabia fully supported to Pakistan in delicate and difficult time. King Abdullah (Late) provided oil to Pakistan at deferred payment. In the aftermath of the 2005 Kashmir earthquake, Saudi Arabia donated over US$3.3 million, more than any other country. Saudi Arabia also supported through financially construction for Shah Faisal Masjid and Islamic University Complex in Islamabad.

Concluding more, Relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are based on Islam. Both countries are bound in the supreme legislative power of Allah. Saudi Arabia has helped and supported to Pakistan in every trouble. It is the need of the hour that Pakistan should provide every kind of support to Saudi Arabia like politically, moral and military.
